To impart essential skills and knowledge to drivers, enabling them to safely operate vehicles, navigate warehouse environments, handle loads efficiently, and execute loading and unloading tasks effectively.

Workers who are required to carry out basic tasks using a forklift within their organization. 

This is basic training. (admission requirements: at least 18 years old and medically fit) 

Theory: 

  • Essential legislation - Permits for work - Safety regulations and traffic guidelines - Daily inspections - Various types and design of forklift trucks - Diverse pallets and storage techniques - Identification and analysis of potential risks


Practice: 

  • Techniques for mounting and dismounting - Proper utilization of controls - Connecting and disconnecting batteries - Procedures, actions, and checks for operating a forklift - Load management and stability - Skillful driving techniques: moving forward and backward, overtaking, turning, and parking - Accurate estimation of distances, depth, and height - Efficient stacking and arrangement of goods in a storage area - Utilizing various stacking systems


Teaching method: 

  • PowerPoint presentation given by an experienced teacher - handout of the presentation - Practical exercises with testing of practical skills


Exam & certificate of participation: 

After completing a theoretical and practical exam, students receive a certificate of participation.



  • For inexperienced drivers, the training lasts 16 hours, 2 teaching days of 8 hours
  • The content of this training is in accordance with the Register of high-risk tasks VCA (AV-001, working with a forklift - basic)
  • Group size: max 8 people
  • The certificates are valid for 5 years.
  • This training is provided as an open training course or internally.
  • ASERVI bv is recognized as a training provider by the Flemish Government. The intervention is intended for all SME's in Flanders.
